Request For Submissions Store CSV Editor Version 1.1

January 13, 2010 Leave a comment

I’m seeking suggestions for the new version of the Store CSV Editor, due out in February 2010.

This is my current list

  1. Providing better update facilities including a ‘bulk’ update for some items such as prices and captions.
  2. I also currently insert new rows at the end, so I’m thinking of an ‘insert in place’ feature.
  3. I’m also thinking of a grid viewer so that the user can browse and edit.
  4. The interface is changing slightly as I backport some features from a new database based product that I’m working on. This will give me the ability to search on any field.
  5. I’m also thinking of an option for images to use the value of an image column rather than the Id

That’s about it, email me at mike@mikeallen.com.au or use the contact form on the web site, whichever is more appropriate for you. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Mike Allen

storeCSVeditor New Feature Release Build 1.0.4.1

December 9, 2009 Leave a comment

The is a new release of the Store CSV Editor available at http://www.mikeallen.com.au/downloads.html. There is a new feature, the ‘clone’ function that takes the current item and creates a new item with the product code as the original code with “+1″ appended to the code. The editor is positioned to the cloned item after a clone operation.

There is also a upgraded HTML editor which has an integrated ‘view HTML’ feature, so the separate tab for viewing HTML has now been removed and is replaced by this feature. The ‘view HTML’ feature includes the HTML Header in the view, even though this is not saved to the file, this ‘feature’ will be fixed in a future release.

If you already have the editor installed, you will need to remove the previous version using the control panel and re-install. Licensing information is preserved during this process.

This will be the last release for 2009,there will be another feature release early next year, if you have a great idea that you’d like to see in the next release send me an email at mike@mikeallen.com.au and I’d be pleased to consider it.

Store CSV Editor – an easy way to edit your Yahoo Store Catalog

November 26, 2009 Leave a comment

I thought I’d share this on the blog, this email is being sent to selected Yahoo owners.

Dear Yahoo Store Owner,

I have visited your Yahoo shop and thought I would let you know about my Store CSV Editor. The Yahoo Store CSV Editor program provides an efficient alternative to using Excel for editing  Yahoo store CSV catalog files. The most popular feature of the product is HTML editing of captions, and the verification of product images,  other features are described at the Store CSV Editor blog.

HTML editing enables you to present your products in a more attractive and informative way. You can have bold or italic text in your product caption (the description of the product), or even use color, another great feature is

  • Lists of information
  • Such as Features
  • Highlight Text

The program is available for download with a 30-day evaluation license, user licenses may be purchased directly from the web site, using a secure PayPal link,  for USD $44.00.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me with your query.

storeCSVeditor Maintenance Release Build 1.0.3.1

October 14, 2009 Leave a comment

A Maintenance release of the storeCSVeditor is available at http://www.mikeallen.com.au/downloads.html this is Build 1.0.3.1. This update is not mission critical but does fix some outstanding issues:

  1. The image is now loaded using the product ‘id’, not the ‘code’, this is of relevance to users who have a different (case insensitive) values in these fields.
  2. The reminder to save data message will only appear once, this was appearing several times on certain code paths.
  3. The ‘id’ is now cleared when the form is cleared

The previous version will need to be removed before the new version is installed. The license state will be preserved between removal and reinstall.
